Baby Shower Bodysuit

A cousin of mine is going to have a baby girl in May.  I racked my brains out trying to figure out what would be a perfect gift for them.  Looking back when I had my baby shower, I remembered distinctively receiving a complete matching outfit with all the bells and whistles of accessories.  So of course, I am not going to deny my cousin from having the cutest outfit that I can create.  Using their favorite color, which is yellow, I have came up with this!  For this post, I’ll be showing you how I have made the neckline on the first picture.

I had dye a plain, white, bodysuit to a bright yellow sunshine color using RIT “Lemon Yellow”.

Then, sew the emblishment I made, by using several flower shaped cutout and sew it onto a white ribbon.  I made 2 strips of this.

At this point, I made a ruffle using a different fabric (silver chevron), and sewn it to the top, which I probaby should have done after I sew in the flower strips.  Anyhow, sew the two flower strips onto the bodysuit (sew the one on the bottom first).

Then, sew the fabric ruffle on top of the flower strips

and voila! You are all done!  Not too shabby for first time making this.
